This 1/2" wide (13mm) Crown Mortising Chisel features an extra-thick blade with flat ground sides designed to register precisely against the mortise sides, ensuring accurate guidance and durability under heavy chopping blows. The blade is traditionally hot forged from fine carbon steel, providing strength and reliability. It includes a leather shock washer between the tang and handle to reduce vibrations for comfortable use. The handle is crafted from tough ash wood, measuring just over 5-1/2" in length, and is reinforced with steel hoops at both the top and bottom for added durability.
