This product stains and protects in one easy step, delivering a natural hand-rubbed appearance that resists water and alcohol. It can be topcoated after 72 hours with Varathane Liquid Plastic or Elite Diamond Finish if desired. Favored by master craftsmen yet simple enough for DIY enthusiasts, this finish is applied with a soft cloth but can also be used with a brush or synthetic steel wool. I for furniture, cabinets, doors, trim, and paneling, it covers 55 to 75 square feet per quart. Surfaces treated with this finish are ready for use within 8 to 10 hours after application.
